In   1984  - BJP  contested it's first general election in 1984   and Won only TWO  seats in Lok Sabha. In   1989  - BJP played role of opposition party and Won  only 85   seats in Lok Sabha out of 545 . In 1991  -   BJP Won only 120   seats in Lok Sabha out of 545. In 1996  - BJP becomes the largest party in Lok Sabha for the first time with 161 seats out of 545.   And we got A Prime minister from BJP   as Shree Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji  But He was only for 13  days as PM of India . In 1998  - We again got Shree Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji   as Prime minister of India but at this time he ruled only for 13 Months. In 1999 - BJP Won  120   Lok Sabha seats and we again got Shree Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji  as Prime Minister of India this time he ruled full of  5 years.
