BJP is a political party. Stands as Bhartiya Janta Party.
Founded in 1980 by reviving the erstwhile Bhartiya Jana Sangh.
Formed by Syama Prasad Mukherjee in1951.


It's Symbol is -

Aims of Bhartiya Janta Party.

1-Wants to build a Strong and modern India by drawing inspiration from India's ancient culture and Values.
2-Works under PANDIT Deendayal Upadhyaya's ideas of integral humanism and Antodaya.
3-Cultural nationalism (or HINDUTVA) is important element in its conception of Indian nationalhood and politics.
4-Wants full territorial and political integration of Jammu and Kashmir wih India.
5-A Uniform Civil Code for all people living in the country irrespective of religion, and ban on religious conversion.

In   1984  - BJP  contested it's first general election in 1984   and Won only TWO  seats in Lok Sabha. In   1989  - BJP played role of opposition party and Won  only 85   seats in Lok Sabha out of 545 . In 1991  -   BJP Won only 120   seats in Lok Sabha out of 545.
